The Mitchell-West Center for Social Inclusion is dedicated to inclusion, empowerment, social change, and justice. Our mission is to create campus environments, programming, and policies that reflect our dedication to justice. We are committed to empowering and uplifting the voices of AANHPI students, offering access to resources and workshops, and acknowledging the accomplishments of AANHPI individuals.

  • Asian American Advocacy Fund (AAAF): The Asian American Advocacy Fund’s mission is to advocate for the civil and human rights of Asian Americans, Pacific Islanders, and Native Hawaiians in Georgia. Through a combination of policy advocacy at local, state, and federal levels, and by supporting candidates that believe in our values, we fight to create a better Georgia for us all.

    Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund (AALDEF): AALDEF focuses on critical issues affecting Asian Americans, including immigrant rights, voting rights and democracy, economic justice for workers, educational equity, housing, and environmental justice, and the elimination of anti-Asian violence, police misconduct, and human trafficking.

    Asian Americans Advancing Justice (AAJC): Fighting for civil rights and empowering Asian Americans to create a more just America for all.

    Asian Arts Initiative: Connecting cultural expression and social change, Asian Arts Initiative uses art as a vehicle to explore the diverse experiences of all communities which include Asian Americans.

    Asian Americans/Pacific Islanders in Philanthropy (AAPIP): Established in 1990, AAPIP is a justice-minded national philanthropy serving organization that provides unique community spaces for Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, Pacific Islanders, and allies in philanthropy. We are a membership-based organization that centers equity and justice in philanthropy to move money and build the power of AAPI communities for an inclusive democracy.

    AAPI Civic Engagement Fund: The AAPI Civic Engagement Fund believes that Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders must be an integral part of strengthening America’s democracy, improving the quality of life for all, and creating vibrant multiracial communities.

    AAPI Equity Alliance: AAPI Equity is dedicated to improving the lives of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders through civic engagement, capacity building, and policy advocacy.

    AAPI Victory Alliance: AAPI Victory Alliance works to build Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) political power across the country by providing education on progressive issues; creating and advocating for policies that affect our communities; and building alliances with organizations to help AAPIs exert their power and be the margin of victory at the local, state, and national levels.

    Asian American Women Artists Association: Through exhibitions, publications, public programs, and an informative website, AAWAA is an accessible resource and portal for educators, academics, researchers, arts and social justice communities, and the general public.

    Asian Cultural Council: The Asian Cultural Council connects artists, humanities scholars, and arts professionals across Asia and the U.S. Through fellowships, grants, achievement awards, public programs, alumni engagement, and other cultural exchange initiatives, ACC aims to build global arts communities whose individual and collective work serves to advance international understanding and respect.

    Asian Pacific Fund: Its mission is to strengthen the Asian and Pacific Islander community in the Bay Area by increasing philanthropy and supporting the organizations that serve our most vulnerable community members.

    National Federation of Filipino American Associations: The National Federation of Filipino American Associations (NaFFAA) promotes the welfare and well-being of the four million Filipinos and Filipino Americans throughout the United States. As a non-partisan and non-profit organization, NaFFAA is the largest national affiliation of Filipino American institutions, umbrella organizations, and individuals. Its fifteen-member regions cover the continental United States, Alaska, Hawaii, and the Pacific Islands.

  • Asian Pacific American Month | PBS: Celebrate Asian Pacific American Heritage Month this May and every day with a special PBS collection of stories that explores the history, traditions, and culture of Asians and Pacific Islanders in the United States. 

    Asian Pacific American Center | Smithsonian: The Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Center is a migratory museum that brings history, art, and culture to you through innovative community-focused experiences.

    #HATEISAVIRUS: A movement started in 2020, Hate Is A Virus continues to amplify, educate and activate AAPI to stand for justice and equality in solidarity with other communities. We do this by mobilizing our community to participate in local and national campaigns, creating safe spaces for dialogue and education, and providing actionable steps and funding in partnership with trusted community leaders and organizations.

    Right To Be: Hollaback! has changed its name to Right To Be. It is a global, people-powered movement to end harassment — in all its forms. They believe that we all deserve to be who we are, wherever we are. 

    #StopAsianHate: a work-in-progress space to centralize information and important links in support of the #StopAsianHate movement.

  • Asian Enough: “Asian Enough”, from the Los Angeles Times, is a podcast about being Asian American -- the joys, the complications and everything in between. In each episode, hosts Jen Yamato, Johana Bhuiyan, Tracy Brown and Suhauna Hussain of the Times invite special guests to share personal stories and unpack identity on their own terms. They explore the vast diaspora across cultures, backgrounds and generations, and try to expand the ways in which being Asian American is defined.

    Self Evident: Asia America's Stories: The mission through, "Self Evident: Asia America's Stories" is to empower local communities to share stories and build relationships around the value of self-representation.The podcast is by and about Asian Americans.

    Southern Fried Asian: Southern Fried Asian is a new podcast from The Nerds of Color hosted by Keith Chow. Typically, stories about Asian Americans are centered on the experiences of those who grew up on the coasts -- New York, Southern California, the Bay Area -- where communities of different Asian American subgroups have lived for many years. On this podcast, though, we're gonna look at a region of the country that isn't typically associated with these stories and unpack what it means to be Asian American in the American South.

  • Stand Against Hatred: Hate incidents and crimes often go unreported. We are asking people to report incidences such as harassment and violence to "Stand Against Hatred" so that we can tell a more complete story about the racism and xenophobia directed toward Asian Americans.Stop

    AAPI Hate: In response to the alarming escalation in xenophobia and bigotry resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, the Asian Pacific Policy and Planning Council (A3PCON), Chinese for Affirmative Action (CAA), and the Asian American Studies Department of San Francisco State University launched the Stop AAPI Hate coalition on March 19, 2020. The coalition tracks and responds to incidents of hate, violence, harassment, discrimination, shunning, and child bullying against Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in the United States.

  • Asian Pride Project: Asian Pride Project celebrates the journeys, triumphs and struggles of LGBTQ individuals and our Asian and Pacific Islander (API) families and communities. We seek to capture these stories by using the arts – film, video, photography and the written word – as a medium for social justice and advocacy in the LGBTQ realm.

    National Queer Asian Pacific Islander Alliance (NQAPIA): National Queer Asian Pacific Islander Alliance (NQAPIA) seeks to build the capacity of local LGBT AAPI organizations, invigorate grassroots organizing, develop leadership, and challenge homophobia, racism, and anti-immigrant bias.

    Prism Foundation: The Prism Foundation is dedicated to exploring critical issues that affect the Asian & Pacific Islander LGBTQ+ community and supporting innovative programs and individuals seeking solutions to those issues.
